Description

Lead Male Training Manager

IMpower United is seeking a positive and energetic team member to help build and grow our Sexual Violence Prevention Center!

Organization Profile

IMpower United (IU) is a global sexual violence prevention organization. Our goal is to end sexual violence around the world by training local adults from high risk communities to deliver IMpower, our internationally acclaimed gender diverse sexual violence prevention intervention and recovery system. IMpower teaches girls to say no effectively, set boundaries and defend themselves in an attack and trains boys to challenge rape culture, practice consent and intervene in attacks. Trans and gender diverse youth select classes to attend that are most relevant to their lived experiences.

Stanford University, Johns Hopkins and University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) researchers have found that IMpower drops the incidence of rape by 46 - 80% wherever it is taught. These findings have led to endorsements from the World Health Organization, the CDC, UNICEF and the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children. IU is partnering with UNL and Tribal leaders on a 4-year Grand Challenges grant to build a Sexual Violence Prevention Center on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. This project requires dedicated and passionate staff to carry out our mission of teaching every child in Pine Ridge and fulfilling commitments to children of other Tribal communities across the USA and Canada. If you’re coming out of the COVID era looking for meaningful, life altering work we may be just what you’re looking for. This position is transformative, inspiring and profoundly impactful.
