Summary
The Business Development Manager will be a pivotal role on the full leadership team at ElderSource, leading many of the organization’s business development efforts and creating meaningful opportunities to provide services and engage the greater community. The position is responsible for the planning, development and execution of a robust partnership strategy and implementation of an ambitious business development program to generate new revenue for the organization. The Business Development Manager will work collaboratively with internal and external partners who strive to improve the lives of older adults and adults living with disabilities through meaningful investments of their time and financial resources.

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Business Development
- Work closely with the COO and organizational leadership to understand the vision and strategic priorities of ElderSource and align business development priorities to support them.
- Create and implement business development opportunities and other partnering strategies to accomplish individual and organizational financial goals.
- With the CEO, COO, and CFO, develop a comprehensive, data-driven annual plan that includes key partnership and business development strategies, competition identification, objectives for program staff, new programs, and measurable success metrics.
- Identify and develop new partnerships through research, identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
- Successfully implement business development strategies that outlines progressive engagement strategies and key performance metrics for new services, programs, and revenue generation.
- Work with CFO to determine costs and optimal price points for programs
- Identify existing and new programming and business development opportunities and activities that support revenue generation goals.
- With the Marketing and Communications Team, build an annual communications strategy that supports partnership, revenue generation, and the development of new and existing programs and services.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships and relationships with partner organizations.Create quality standards and requirements for new and existing programs and services.
- Develop systems to ensure consistent, high-quality program management.
- Review and evaluate program and service quality outcomes and financial maximization targets.
- Be knowledgeable about Medicaid, Medicare, and other funding sources.
- Establish relationships with health plans, hospitals, and other potential funding sources.
- Provide leadership in the implementation of new and ongoing programmatic excellence and quality service delivery.
- Recommend and implement timelines and resources to achieve program goals and financial targets.
- Represent the organization at various functions and public/private meetings.
B. Program Management
- Organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization and its funding entity.
- Develop new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.
- Participate in developing a budget and operating plan for the program.
- Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
- Create program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services.
- Manage a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
- Ensure goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
- Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
- Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.
- Analyze program risks.

- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises Special Coordinators, program staff, and interns responsible for serving the need of older adults and adults living with disabilities. Build and sustain meaningful relationships, enhance the organization’s overall brand and create a culture of collaboration among funding partners and donors that span its seven-county geographical service area.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsQualifications
III. Education and/or Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field is required. Two to five years (preferred) of success in building, leading and growing programs of comparable size. A Master’s degree in business, management, or related field is preferred. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office software, fundraising databases, and internet research.
- Other Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Federal and Grant management process
Knowledge of various social programs for the elderly.

- Proven ability to align mission and strategic objectives to create partnerships that achieve mutually established goals
- Demonstrated success in creating and managing program services.
- Previous experience building new programs and services that consistently meets and/or exceeds goals
- Experience working with contracts and grants.
- Ability to persuasively articulate mission, vision, diversity and inclusion and information to multiple audiences in a compelling way
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Significant interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to interface effectively with leaders at all level
- Knowledge and familiarity with techniques and tools for prospect research
- Experience recruiting, training, and encouraging sophisticated stakeholders, participants, and volunteers
Pre-employment background check and drug screen will be conducted on top candidate. It is mandatory that a candidate be able to pass a Level II criminal background check through the Department of Elder Affairs prior to starting work.
Salary: $55000/year
