SUMMARY
The Food Set-up and Delivery Assistant works from EOCP’s Crossroads shelter and is responsible for setting-up food and making deliveries between EOCP’s residential programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Duties
§ Ensures proper work attire by the beginning of the work day by wearing mask and a chef jacket or chef shirt.
§ Makes sure to take temperature upon arrival to work and submit to weekly COVID testing
§ Reads daily tasks sent out in a text and respond when task is complete.
§ Works diligently in a fast-paced environment and multi-tasks to complete several projects simultaneously
§ Open to learning on the job due to the wide range of safety and regulatory policies impacting EOCP’s work.
§ Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Food Services Manager
§ Informs Food Service Manager immediately of product shortages.
Meal Delivery
§ Delivers and serves meals to Family Matters and drop off meals to Our House, Veterans at Hotels, twice daily.
§ Ensures daily meal count for each location
Professionalism
§ Maintain a positive attitude with residents, volunteers, and staff.
§ Attends all required supervisory meeting, staff meetings and trainings as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Completion of vocational school or two-year associate degree in culinary arts
· Should have a SerSafe Food Handling Certification and be knowledgeable of pertinent health and safety standards
· At least one year of cooking experience
· Excellent kitchen knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
· A valid California Driver’s License and ability to pass a drug test and a background check
· A COVID vaccination, booster shot, or willingness to receive a vaccination and booster
· Strong organization and active listening skills
· Exceptional time management skills
· Ability to navigate the internet and correspond via email
· Basic math skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Good communication skills with residents, staff and management are required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
This position requires arithmetic skills necessary for cooking for large and small groups, calculating for ordering, registering number of people served per meal, accurately assessing and rotating inventory.
REASONING ABILITY
This position requires good judgment in working with residents in an emergency-housing program. The Cook must be a team player who can model appropriate behavior for residents, volunteers and trainees.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Able to access information from the computer regarding ordering information, utilizing MS-Word and tying into templates for completing inventory and order forms. Experienced in navigating the internet.
CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS
The Cook must have a valid California Driver’s License and SerSafe Food Handling Certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position spends most of the working day in the kitchen; the environment can be hot and somewhat hectic at meal times.
