Camp Chewonki is one of Maine's most prestigious nature-based overnight camp and expedition-based youth leadership program for boys, girls, and non-binary children based on a 400-acre peninsula in mid-coast Maine. Since 1915, Chewonki has been changing the lives of children and staff- including yours! Overnight campers are aged 8-14 and spend 10 days or 3 weeks at camp. The overnight camp program focuses on building cabin community, building social emotional skills and knowledge in a core curriculum (including natural history, farm & food systems, watercraft, the arts, and more!) and learning about backcountry travel on multi-day remote cabin trips.

Camp Chewonki Age Group Coordinators are patient, responsible, and supportive supervisors who are responsible for the health and wellness of campers, and the mentorship of cabin staff. Age Group Coordinators manage 1-2 age groups consisting of 3-7 cabins; each cabin has 2 staff. They help staff adjust to camp life, develop community with their coworkers and campers, get to know every camper in their age group, and work as the primary liaison for your cabin staff to the rest of the leadership team. In addition to supporting cabin staff’s growth and development, Age Group Coordinators work as educators, caretakers, and collaborate with all Coordinators/Directors to fully support the needs of the campers and staff. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children, spending time in the outdoors, and a dedication to lifelong learning.
