SODE School of Performing Arts – Hiring Japanese Dance Choreographer

SODE School of Performing Arts is seeking a Japanese dance choreographer to create a featured piece for our 2026 Multicultural Performing Arts Showcase. We are looking for a choreographer who specializes in any traditional Japanese dance form, including but not limited to:

• Nihon Buyō
• Bon Odori
• Okinawan dance
• Traditional folk dance

Project Details

• Create a 2-minute choreography for a solo performer
• SODE will provide the soloist
• Choreographer must be able to work efficiently and collaboratively
• Compensation is provided

Rehearsal Commitment

• 4 hours total
• Two separate rehearsal days
• 2 hours per day
• Project must be fully choreographed by March 1st 2026
