Job Description

Job Qualifications:

Associates Degree or better and two years of experience in early childhood education, Bachelors preferred.
Experience in center and/or family/group child care setting preferred.
Available to work up to one evening a week and one Saturday per month.
Graphic Design and social media skills preferred.
Bilingual skills are highly desired.
Customer service or sales experience preferred.
Works in cooperation with other early childhood support services in the community.
Complete accurate and timely data entry into our data management systems.
Commitment to equity, social justice and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities.
Must have reliable transportation.
Advocacy of the importance of Early Childhood Education and advancement of the profession of Early Childhood Education.
Proficiency with video conferencing platforms preferred.
Knowledge/experience with using Microsoft and Google Office, a must.
Comfortable with presenting information about Great Start to Quality to the public through professional development opportunities, community presentations and community events.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducts outreach to child care providers/programs to increase participation in the Great Start to Quality STARS rating system.

Conducts on-site/virtual visits with those providers to build knowledge and understanding of Great Start to Quality.
Assists providers with updating their greatstarttoquality.org profile.
Provides technical assistance to providers via face-to-face, email, phone, text, zoom, etc.
Supports providers in completing and submitting their Self-Assessment Survey, registering for professional development trainings, and/or accessing Resource Center quality improvement materials.


Designs and produces flyers, letters, and printed literature.
Develops community based professional development training opportunities for child care providers.

Posts opportunities to miregistry.org, tracks attendance, and reports evaluation results to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Leads local learning communities for all child care programs/providers.


Maintains working knowledge of data base systems related to Great Start to Quality STARS rating platform, such as Work Life Systems and MiRegsitry.org.
Promotes public awareness of Great Start to Quality through presentations to community organizations to increase participation in Great Start to Quality region wide.
Promotes public awareness through the use of social media and participation in community events.
Assists families who contact the Resource Center to navigate greatstarttoquality.org and facilitate access to those without technology.
Refers families that contact the Resource Center looking for child care and preschool who may be eligible for Great Start Readiness Program to the Intake office.
Refers families that contact the Resource Center looking for developmental support for their child(ren) to partnering community agencies, such as Early On, Bright Beginning and Help Me Grow.
Supports License Exempt providers by:

Assisting them in creating an account on MiRegistry.org.
Assisting them in registering for professional development opportunities.
Referring them to the Michigan Department of Education for information and steps to complete the process.


Refers potential child care providers to LARA to gain more knowledge about the licensing process.
