Convergence Center for Policy Resolution (Convergence) seeks a full-time Development Manager to join a small yet mighty team raising the funds in support of Convergence’s mission to tackle growing divisiveness and toxic polarization through bridging divides by solving critical urgent national problems. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and working with the rest of the Development team including the Director, Senior Associate, and Associate, the Development Manager will primarily focus on managing institutional, foundation, and corporate partnerships. The manager will work closely with the Senior Associate to research grant and funding opportunities, draft letters of support, grant applications, and proposals, lead meetings and presentations, support grant reporting, and serve as a primary point of contact for key funding relationships.
Responsibilities
Manage key institutional/corporate/foundation funder relationships, including the cultivation and stewardship of the relationship.
Develop high-quality, cohesive written content to support fundraising including grants, letters of interest, and proposals.
Work with communications team to develop other marketing materials that can support fundraising efforts.
Represent Convergence on external meetings, calls, and events.
Support Senior Associate on conducting research on potential funders, developing background materials and preparation materials in advance of meetings.
Liase with program team to ensure project updates and information are provided to funders.
Develop slide decks and materials for presentations with funders.
Support engagement with key stakeholders including Board members, Leadership Council members and other VIPs.
Support fundraising events and special projects.
Play an active role as a member of the Convergence staff and positively engage with interns, colleagues, alumni, and leadership.
Other duties that may be assigned to support Convergence’s fundraising activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
5-8 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising preferred.
Outstanding project management and organizational abilities.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience working on complex social issues and policies
Experience with Salesforce or similar database, capability with wealth research tools like iWave, and fluency with Microsoft Office. Comfort learning new software and systems a plus.
Sense of humor, flexibility, resourcefulness, and collaborative work ethic.
Position Details
Salary depends on experience, with a target range of $75,000-$85,000.
Convergence offers a full benefits package (including health insurance and retirement) and generous paid leave.
Most of Convergence staff are concentrated in two hubs -- one around Washington, DC and the other in the San Francisco Bay Area. All staff are working remotely for the time being with hybrid office/remote workspace possible in the future. Candidates are welcomed regardless of location. Some travel to/between workplace hubs required.
