NHADACA is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing addiction professions in NH. Our mission is to provide quality education, workforce development, advocacy, ethical standards and leadership for addiction professionals. We empower efforts in prevention, treatment and recovery.
Founded in 1986, NHADCA has grown to be the leading provider of continuing education for addiction professionals in NH and stronghold for substance use professional workforce development. In addition, NHADACA has forged quality relationships with policy makers and stakeholders throughout the state in order to ensure that they have access to accurate, timely information about addiction prevention, treatment and recovery.
Summary Description: The Development Director will lead the advancement activities of NHADACA. This includes seeking individual donations, grants and corporate sponsorships; coordinating fundraising activities with a fundraising committee made of NHADACA Board of Directors and members; and creating a development plan aligned with NHADACA’s strategic plan. Success in these areas will allow for NHADACA to increase the resources available for mission-based activities and to build a strong and diversified financial base for the organization.
The qualified candidate will possess the following qualities:
· Dedication and commitment to the organization’s mission and values
· 5+ years of relevant development experience
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage a wide range of funders and stakeholders.
· Demonstrated ability to initiate and build donor, business, government and community relationships
· Familiarity with the giving landscape in New Hampshire is preferred
Work Environment:
· Hybrid Work Environment: Ability to work in an office setting as well as remotely
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Although based in Concord, NH; in-person meetings may require minimal travel
· Occasional early/late work hours may be necessary.
Responsibilities:
· Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop an annual resource development plan and strategies to achieve budgeted revenue goals.
· Work closely with Executive Director and workforce program directors to identify special projects and other funding opportunities for grants. Identify potential funding sources. Develop, write and submit grant proposals. Ensure grant compliance, including reporting, for all grants.
· Develop an individual giving/major donor program to allow individuals interested in the sector to invest in the NHADACA’s mission and programs.
· Monitor and report upon progress toward goals in revenue, adapting methods as necessary.
· Working with the Executive Director, manage and cultivate existing relationships with funders to secure and expand recurring revenue streams.
· Provide board and staff members engaged in fundraising with a clear fundraising plan, tools, leadership and support.
· Represent the NHADACA publicly at events and with external constituencies to build enthusiasm for NHADACA’s mission.
· Team with operational staff members to oversee fundraising recordkeeping systems ensuring data accuracy, donor privacy, acknowledgement and recognition, and timely reporting.
· Ensure that the highest ethical and administrative standards are applied to fundraising and financial management.
Compensation: $23-$28 per hour; approximately 20 hours per week on average
