POSITION SUMMARY: Manage lifeguards and the pool and waterfront schedule, assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and secure aquatic facility, and support swimming and boating activities to ensure safe and positive water experiences for our campers and staff.
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Supervise lifeguards and aquatic programming at the pool and the waterfront.
- Work with the Facility Manager and pool staff to maintain a clean, safe, and secure aquatic facility.
- Communicate and enforce all aquatic policies and procedures with staff and campers.
- Actively participate in camp programming outside of water-based activities including evening activities, camper choice time, bus duty, and more.
- As a member of the LVC Leadership Team, you will participate in regular meetings to provide updates and strategize to help our camp community be the best it can be. You will be responsible for some evening/overnight shifts as Supervisor-on-Duty. You will consistently act as a positive role model for our community and your actions and decisions should reflect that expectation.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- This position is compensated at a rate of $800 per week plus a $50 weekly bonus for valid lifeguard certification during weeks worked, pre-tax.
- Our summer seasonal staff are paid on a bi-weekly basis and are classified as exempt, seasonal employees.

REQUIREMENTS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Must reside in shared staff housing on the LVC resident camp property in Boscobel, WI starting with two weeks of staff training in June and ending after the last camp program lets out in mid-August.
- Current Lifeguard Certification (PEAK can provide training prior to employment if needed).
- Must be at least 18 to apply.
- Previous experience working at a pool or other aquatics facility.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard.
REPORTING AND RELATIONSHIPS
- The Aquatics Coordinator will report to the Assistant Director of Camp Programs & Expeditions
- The Aquatics Coordinator will supervise lifeguards/swim instructor/boating instructor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- The pool at LVC is an outdoor facility and the camp environment is often hot or rainy. You must be able to work outside for sustained periods of time without air conditioning.
- Position requires standing, stooping, sitting, walking long distances in hilly terrain, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds with or without assistance.
- Position requires working weekends and nights, with time off in between camp sessions. Camp days are often long and at times require late night camper support. Staff will have daily scheduled breaks.
- Exposure to pool chemicals and machinery, using appropriate personal protective equipment.
