Job Description

The EPC has advanced knowledge of natural history and wildlife tracks and sign and is passionate about sharing that knowledge with others. The EPC will lead SVC education programs for adults and youth and coordinate volunteer and citizen science efforts. The EPC will work with the Education Director to build the annual calendar of programs, develop and teach natural history curriculum, and work with partnering schools and organizations to deliver experiential education to youth 18 and under. The EPC will work with the Creative and Communications Director and Assistant to create marketing and outreach related to these programs. The EPC may also support college field programs and other organizational events. The EPC is directly supervised by the Education Director. 


Essential Job Functions: Coordinate & teach adult education programs including:

• Montana Master Naturalist 

• Wildlife Tracks & Sign 

• Landowner Workshops & Outreach

• Quarterly Community Potlucks

• Bird Counts

Coordinate & teach youth education programs including:

• Mission Mountain Youth Crew

• Experiential education needs of local schools

Coordinate volunteer events such as: 

• Newsletter prep 

• Highway clean-up

• Swan River clean-up

• Community firewood

• Elk Creek Conservation Area & Swan Legacy Forest work days 

Work with Education Director and Conservation Director to develop citizen science opportunities.

Support events such as:

• Bear Fair

• Landowner Stewardship Fair

• Summer Soiree in the Swan
