Temple Israel is located in Charlotte, NC on Shalom Park, abeautiful park-like campus with other Jewish agencies. Charlotteis one of the fastest growing, livable, friendly cities in the U.S.and is located three hours from the mountains and the beach.
Who We Are Looking For
Temple Israel is seeking its next Executive Director (ED) to partner with our dynamic clergy, as well as the President and the Board of Trustees, to proactively establish ongoing relationships with our congregants, to inspire our staff and lead our synagogue operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about leading in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment. They have extensive experience with a non-profit organization,thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a talent fororganizing and improving operations and systems.
The ED will report to the President and will supervise the administrative staff. The ED will be responsible for Temple Israel’s day to day financial and business operations, including membership engagement and development, the operational maintenance of our physical plant, and the support of the President, Board of Trustees, Committee Chairs and affiliate groups.
The ED will be one of the public faces of our temple to current and prospective synagogue members, and to other Shalom Park partners and agencies, and will be responsive to all stakeholders, while setting a friendly, warm and welcoming tone for all interactions involving the Temple Israel family.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college in a relevant field, such as business or organizational management is required (MBA or Master’s Degree is a plus; Project Management certification and experience are pluses).
• Verifiable experience of the duties listed in this job description.
• At least ten years of experience serving as an Executive Director or Chief Operating Officer of a non-profit agencyof similar size and scale, currently supervising ten or more employees is required (such experience in a Jewish non-profit is a plus).
• In-depth knowledge of the holidays, calendar and life-cycle events of Conservative Judaism.
Compensation/Benefits
Salary up to $125,000 based upon education and experience; non-profit Charlotte-area comparable employee benefits havingemployer/employee cost-sharing, paid time off, professional development, and complimentary Temple membership; reasonable and documented moving expenses up to $10,000.
