Job Description

Founded in 1900, Albany County Bar Association in Albany, NY seeks a responsible, organized, self-motivated Administrator/Board Liaison for a part-time position (est. 25-29 hours per week) during the school calendar with limited communication work during the summer months.  The main responsibility will entail supporting a board of attorneys and members of the judiciary whose mission is to promote professional collegiality among the bench and the bar. We offer a flexible work schedule, along with the opportunity to be part of a great membership organization. Anticipated start date as soon as possible, but we are willing to be flexible for the right candidate. Occasional attendance at evening events will be expected as well. This position will pay between $35.00/hour to $45.00/hour, depending on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Candidate will work closely with ACBA President and Executive Board to maintain day to day operations of the ACBA, act as a liaison for communications, assist the President and Board Members with budget management, engagement of ACBA members, event planning and execution, planning of continuing legal education programming, and other necessary functions as needed for the continued operations of the ACBA. This individual should be highly motivated, detail-oriented and project a positive attitude. Candidates will possess excellent organizational skills, written/verbal communication, time management skills and computer skills.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Associate’s degree or higher from accredited university, paralegal experience, and/or event planning experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF
  • Experience in, or aptitude to learn how to, update website.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Proficiency in video conferencing software (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
  • Proficiency in social media mediums (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Excellent follow-up skills, attention to detail, calendaring of appointments, and time management.
