The Part-Time Outside Sales Specialist successfully communicates the mission of Girl Scouting in the local community through community events/festivals, school events, and trade show event opportunities to support membership growth. As a representative of the organization, the Part-Time Outside Sales Specialist secures increased girl and adult volunteer membership leads for members of the recruitment team to cultivate and convert to registered troop members. Employees are to attend in-person events. 



Day in The Life


Supports external recruitment efforts by interacting with potential members and parents at community, school, and local events in a designated geographic area.

Attends local community festivals, school events (open house, registration, etc.), as well as other networking and trade show opportunities to gather potential member information to increase membership within the organization.

Provides potential girl and adult members with a consistent and positive message about Girl Scouting and the available opportunities to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).

Acts as a brand ambassador for Girl Scouts within the community by using current and consistent brand language and messaging.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements


High School diploma, prior experience and/or knowledge of public speaking, networking, or interacting with potential customers at events and/or trade shows preferred.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Highly effective interpersonal communication skills and comfortable communicating with customers via email, telephone, face to face, and customer relationship management systems.

Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Social Media, and customer relationship management systems. Salesforce a plus.

Ability to work with volunteers and community contacts from diverse backgrounds to build an effective and robust member pipeline.

Ability to maintain accurate records and details to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and produce results.

This position requires driving a council vehicle or a personal vehicle; therefore, the individual must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess, and maintain a current, valid driver's license, and self-report any vehicle violations.

Must be able to occasionally lift or move a minimum of 25 pounds.

Must be willing to obtain a GSUSA membership ($25 annually) upon employment.

Knowledge of Girl Scouts organization, preferred but not needed.

Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
