Job Description

Section 1 - Position Overview
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Controller will play a critical role in strategic
decision making and operations as MANNA continues to enhance its ministry and
undergoes rapid growth. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory
manager who, will lead the Financial Team, and will have a successful track record in
setting priorities; as well as excellent analytic, organization, and communication skills.
This position is based in Denver, CO.

finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations.

Section 3 - Primary Job Functions
General
- Assist management with important financial decisions
- Prepare and monitor financial documents such as business reports, financial
forecasts and statements to make recommendations to the business including cost
reduction
- Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and
consolidating financial data; recommending plans by coordinating with various other
leaders
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances;
initiating corrective actions
Management
- Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and
procedures
- Manage outsourced functions
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an
organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their
control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
Transactions
- Ensure that accounts payable are entered and paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
- Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
- Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed monthly
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Reporting
- Issue timely, accurate, and complete financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company
operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculate variances from the budget, report significant issues to management and
provide any recommendations for improvements
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing
decisions, and contract negotiations Compliance
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax
filings to be sure in good standing
 
Section 4 - Compensation
Salary range: $60,000 - $90,000 based on experience level and qualifications.
Benefits: Paid Time Off; starting at 2 weeks, and growing to 5 weeks.
 
Section 5 - Direct Supervisor
This person will report to the CEO, Keith O’Neal
