About the New York Quarterly Meeting Office
This is a transformational moment for the New York Quarterly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and we are looking to expand the reach and capabilities of the Quarterly Meeting Office and staff. The New York Quarterly Meeting (the Quarter), the six Meetings in New York City, has traditionally focused its business on managing our properties and endowments. We see an opportunity to bring our six meetings into a more cohesive community and use that fellowship to inspire and magnify our efforts toward positive social change.
What You Will be Doing
We are looking for an Executive Director to reimagine how we work, how the office is managed/staffed, and how we take care of our facilities. All of this activity is in service of creating structures that will facilitate communication between our different meetings. We, New York City Quakers, are looking to strengthen our community and create relationships across the Quarter that will increase the impact of Friend’s witness, voice, and presence in New York City and beyond. We are eager for connection and the opportunity to take our commitment to the world to the next level. We know that we can't do it without good coordination and systems. With that, you will be
Strengthening and adding to the team at the NYQM Office to better support our community, manage our property, finances and communication infrastructure.
Creating a stellar work environment that leaves NYQM Staff empowered and effective. Working with Trustees and community members to make sure our staff has the experience of being appreciated and supported.
Collaborating with our Facilities Director to improve facilities management and to oversee our capital projects. Well maintained spaces are an integral part of supporting our worship, great relationships with our community members and tenants.
Working with our bookkeeper, accountants and auditor and being accountable for finances. You will provide the Trustees and the Audit and Budget Committee with accurate financial reporting and support the auditors.
Collaborating with members of our community, you will create and implement a comprehensive communications and technology program that will allow our six meetings to better interact and connect.
Nurture and maintain positive relationships across Meetings, schools, tenants, and other organizations that come into our spaces.
Who You Are

Experience inspiring and developing teams.
Taken a complex project from inception to implementation.
An understanding of non-profit finance; can create a budget, manage it, and report on outcomes;
Experience with building communities that are committed to social change.
An understanding of and experience with Board Governance of a membership or service based organization.
Experience working with Quakers, knowing about our ways of operating and making decisions.

The Executive Director position pays between $150,000 and $180,000 annually based on experience. Our benefit package includes health and dental coverage, a retirement plan with matched contributions, paid vacation, paid time off and other benefits. Coverage of relocation expenses is negotiable.
