The Position

We’re looking for a full-time Operations Manager to join our small, founder-led team and continue our impressive growth trajectory. Reporting to RLC’s Program Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of operations and providing a reliable food rescue service for all RLC stakeholders. This role will in some cases support and in other cases fully oversee the operational success of one or multiple RLC branches remotely, in addition to aiding RLC’s growth efforts on the org-wide level.


Responsibilities: 

Operations at Rescuing Leftover Cuisine are designed to inspire community engagement, increase volunteer retention, and create long-term impact and value. Responsibilities will include execution, management, reporting, and optimization of current operations. This role requires a strong desire to be involved in all aspects of operations including operational design, deployment, and measurement.


The Operations Manager’s essential duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Track and manage operations KPI metrics for operations they manage
  • Actively own all aspects of food rescue operations remotely for RLC regions as directed by the Program Director
  • Ensure minimum 95+% coverage of pickups by engaging with all current rescuers, rescuer groups, and nonprofit recipient partners
  • Implement changes to the schedules of food donations, optimize food rescue routes, and manage the website calendar of food rescues
  • Form new methods of operations for long-term growth and efficiency
  • Lead route optimization efforts across all branches through collaboration with all operations department team members
  • Assist with Nonprofit Recipient outreach and coordination on an org-wide level 
  • Conduct regular check-ins with current food donor and nonprofit recipient partners to solicit feedback, continually streamline our processes,  and strengthen our relationships
  • Explore automation tools, website features, or methods to enhance the capacity of operations
  • Have the ability to see the bigger picture and work with the operations team to develop a long-term roadmap and strategy
  • Assist Program Director with outreach or onboarding as needed


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant full-time experience
  • Must be local to the Greater Boston Area and have an understanding of the area.
  • Experience utilizing and maintaining a CRM platform (preferably Salesforce) for opportunity tracking
  • Comfortable learning new software and systems
  • Effective and clear written and verbal communication
  • Organizational skills, data entry skills, and analytical mindset
  • Ability to consult and interact with RLC’s executive team, colleagues, and interns

Total Compensation

Salary range for this position is $45,000-50,000
