Position Overview

EcoRise seeks an Operations Specialist to assist the Senior Manager of Finance & Operations with administrative functions, event coordination, and staff travel arrangements. The Operations Specialist will demonstrate familiarity with executing administrative tasks and there will be opportunities to identify innovative ways to enhance the administrative functions of the organization. The Operations Specialist will report to the Senior Manager, Finance & Operations, and work closely with other team members and contractors as needed. This is a remote position based in Central Texas, with some flexibility in work hours. Occasional availability on nights and weekends may be required.

 

Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Operations Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:  

 

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Finance & Operations to assist with all aspects of event planning and implementation including the research and selection of venues for various events, attendance tracking, ensuring compliance with necessary permission forms, handling event food and beverage orders, facility logistics, etc.
  • Utilize organizational databases, spreadsheets, and other technology tools to monitor active tasks and maintain internal records
  • Issue and mail checks
  • Book and manage travel arrangements for staff
  • Manage calendars, plan meetings, and coordinate logistics to collaborate across departments
  • Consistently utilize EcoRise brand standards and communicate in alignment with our mission, vision, and values
  • Candidates will bring commitment to and support of EcoRise’s equity and anti-racist frameworks
  • Meet in person with the Senior Manager of Finance & Operations in Central Texas for one hour on a bi-weekly basis

 

Skills and Qualifications

Preferred

  • Bookkeeping and administrative experience
  • Proficiency working with software including Microsoft Excel, Zoom, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Quickbooks Online, Salesforce, Trello and/or Google Suite
  • Effective project management skills; attentive to detail with a keen aptitude for organization
  • Comfortability with collecting data, analyzing results, and communicating findings to help make informed decisions
  • A detail oriented and self-motivated personality
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Prompt, comfortable, and reliable with email and phone communication
  • Capable of working in a remote environment
  • Owns a computer with internet access and has access to a personal vehicle and a phone


Timeline and Compensation

This is a contracted position, in a remote work environment, with an anticipated start date of April 24, 2023. The wage rate offered is $23/hour. Approximately 10 hours of work per week is expected with a possibility for increased hours over time. Thorough reference and background checks will be required for finalists.
