Job Description

In-Sync Exotics in the greater DFW area is looking for a full- time veterinarian with zoological experience. In-Sync Exotics is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the rescue of neglected, abused and unwanted exotic felines. We currently have 75 exotic cats that include lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, cheetahs, other smaller exotic cats, and a variety of domestic animals. The goal of In-Sync Exotics is to provide our residents with appropriate housing and nutrition, enrichment, and state of the art medical and surgical care. In-Sync Exotics has a fully operational hospital on premise with ultrasound, radiology and endoscopy. There is a fully equipped surgery suite and a room designed for necropsies. The president and CEO of In-Sync Exotics, Vicky Keahey, is dedicated to providing high quality medicine and surgery for all animals. She is also interested in adding to the science and literature of exotic feline medicine and surgery through non-terminal research projects and publications.


We are seeking a veterinarian with the following:

  • Being a team player with the ability to work professionally with the In-sync staff, keepers and volunteers.
  • Experience that includes zoological animals and/or an internship or residency in zoological medicine
  • Experience with ultrasound and endoscopy
  • Experience with both soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
  • Experience with anesthesia and analgesia of domestic and large exotic mammals

Responsibilities would include:

  • Being available for the daily care of the resident exotic cats and domestic animals
  • Covering after hours and weekend emergencies
  • Providing mentorship and training to undergraduate and veterinary students and veterinary interns
  • Providing education to the public on the care and conservation of large exotic felines
  • A desire to keep up with the current literature
  • Willingness to present cases at conferences and publish the literature

Additional Salary Information: Salary will be based on experience and benefits include medical and dental insurance. Texas licensure, PLIT insurance, AAZV memberships, VIN, 2 continuing education conference per year.
