Georgia’s Friends is looking for a dynamic and motivated person who has both lived and professional experience in recovery and addiction. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing and overseeing our recovery residence program, managing all aspects of residence life, being an ambassador to the community, and inspiring and motivating the women we serve.

Job Duties
In this role, you will serve as a critical member of a small, close-knit team that provides a variety of services to the residents of Georgia’s House, a sober-living home for women in Charlottesville. Your primary responsibilities will be to develop and oversee the recovery residence program, manage all aspects of residence life, be an ambassador of the organization to the community, and inspire and motivate women in recovery.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Recovery Programs is responsible for:
Program Development – You will evaluate and evolve the organization’s recovery program
standards to ensure that Georgia’s Friends is offering the highest quality of care and is following
industry best practices (including NARR and VARR). This includes analyzing resident recovery
metrics using surveys and recovery capital management software.
Case Management – You will provide for the physical and emotional safety of residents and help
create a positive community environment. Responsibilities include applicant screening and intake,
developing and tracking individual recovery and discharge plans, holding residents accountable to
program rules, ensuring that all residents have timely access to recovery support services, and
overseeing drug testing.
Community Outreach – You will identify, develop, and maintain relationships with community
organizations that provide recovery, life skills, training, health and wellness, and transition
resources for residents and will participate in or lead outreach activities that strengthen ties to the
community.
Education – You will plan, coordinate, and implement resident activities, workshops, and meetings
that provide recovery skills, life skills, and fulfillment.
Alumni Outreach – You will develop a program to keep alumni engaged in the recovery community
and Georgia’s House activities, help them further their own recovery, and provide ongoing peer
learning opportunities for residents.

Has reliable transportation and is willing and able to transport residents to 12-step meetings.
Is comfortable establishing and holding personal and professional boundaries.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS:
BA or BS degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.
Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, or Peer Recovery
Specialist certification.

Georgia’s House is located in a beautifully restored 1890’s Victorian home in Charlottesville’s Ridge Street Historic District. You’ll be within walking distance of the downtown mall, West Main Street, and UVA grounds. You’ll be steps away from bus lines 2, 3, 4, and 6 and two blocks from IX Park. Our office is in a lovely restored cottage just behind the residence with access to peaceful gardens and grounds and a supportive work environment.
