Description
The Virginia Victim Assistance Network (VVAN), a 501(c)3 non-profit membership
organization, seeks qualified applicants for a Membership and Fund Development
Coordinator position. This is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director.
The Membership and Fund Development Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining
and growing the organization’s membership program and building greater financial
sustainability. They will oversee all aspects of The Network’s membership program and
activities, creating and implementing the fund development plan, and establishing new
revenue streams.
This position is 100% telework based and includes some overnight travel within the
state of Virginia for training, events, and stakeholder engagement.
The ideal candidate for this position is comfortable working virtually and independently,
but also has a desire to join a close, supportive staff who share responsibilities and

Job Duties
● Strategic Planning:
o Work with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and strategic plan
consultants to create agency fund development plan.
o Assist in training Board and other key players in agency fund development
strategies.
o Work with Executive Director, Membership Committee, and Fundraising
Committee to set annual membership and fundraising goals. Provide
monthly reporting to the Executive Director regarding progress.
● Membership:
o Maintain up-to-date membership database of 350+.
o Respond to member requests for assistance with account management.
o Create and manage new and existing member correspondence such as
welcome letters, quarterly newsletter, and email announcements.
o Develop marketing materials and messaging for renewals and new
member solicitations.
o Develop and oversee membership recruitment and retention strategies,
programs, and events.
o Identify and implement new member benefits and services.
o Form relationships with allied partners to explore reciprocal membership
benefits.
o Attend regional Victim/Witness Coalition Meetings.
● Fund Development
o Maintain and manage fund development calendar and correspondence.
o Create planned giving and “Friend-raising” events and campaigns.
o Identify and cultivate funding opportunities for direct services programs.
o Participate in Program Committee planning of special events.
o Create sponsorship materials for events and other programs.
o Manage event and program sponsors/exhibitors including managing
sponsor relations and deliverables.
o Attend Annual Conference on Crime Victims’ Issues (in November) and
other special events as requested.
● Other:
o Work with Executive Director and staff to create and publish annual report.
o Work closely with staff on all financial, marketing, and brand management.
Skills Required
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit management/development
● Proven experience and success in fundraising, membership engagement,
development, and recruitment.
● Experience with grant procurement and management process.
● Ability to work with a great deal of autonomy and semi-flexible schedule.
● Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple
assignments.
● Ability to work well with diverse groups of people and multiple partners.
● Experience managing committees and subgroups.
● High level of competency and comfort with financial management and CRM
software as well as basic software proficiency including QuickBooks Advanced,
Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Constant Contact, and
Zoom. Experience with Wild Apricot membership platform a plus.
● Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
● Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships.
● Experience in strategic planning process and graphic design a plus.
Additional Info
This full-time position is 100% telework offering a semi-flexible work schedule. Salary
range is $55,000 – $60,000 with generous stipend for benefits. Employment based on
successful background check.
