Camp Holiday Trails, a year-round non-profit camp, is seeking a full-time Assistant Program Director (APD) who believes that “Camp life is the best life!” This individual would not only help to create Camp Magic in the summer months, but also be responsible for developing our year-round Pop-Up Camp programming from September through May.

We encourage candidates who understand our diverse camper population and value diversity amongst our team; including candidates who are African-American, Latinx, Asian American, Pacific Islander and multi-racial as well as who identify at LGBTQIA.

This role is a critical part of our programming team and will work alongside our Director of Programs to strengthen current programming, scale up Pop-Up Camps, while creating new programming to continue growing the mission of Camp Holiday Trails throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.  We recommend a strong sense of humor, grace under pressure and although tie-dye is optional, you likely won’t be able to avoid wearing it in this position.





Job Duties

As our Assistant Program Director you get to:



Serve as an instrumental role in creating “camp magic” for youth with medical needs

Recruit, train and build professional relationships with compassionate and dedicated counselors and volunteers

Connect with community members to build partnerships to expand our current summer programming, Pop-up camps and family camps.







Skills Required



Must be COVID-19 vaccinated (To reinforce the overall safety & wellbeing of the camper community that we closely work with)

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age 

Must hold or be willing to acquire CPR, AED, and First Aid certification 

Minimum 3 years of camp experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role

Preferred 1+ year of experience working with individuals who have special needs

Must be organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask (extra points if you can manage multiple browser tabs at one time)

Possess strong communication skills; both written and verbally and have the ability to build relationships with both internal/external partners

Must be proficient with Google Workspace

Willingness to sing songs and dance in front of others
