Position Summary

GJDC (Greater Nexus) is Southeast Queens newly launched epicenter for a premiere all-inclusive co working space. This newly launched hi-tech co working space is designed to galvanize connections and innovate the professional working space for entrepreneurs, businesses, and independent contractors. This space will offer opportunities for networking events and training hubs.

GJDC (Greater Nexus) is seeking an enthusiastic Director to lead the newly opened Coworking Space. The Director is responsible for embodying and communicating integral community values and behaviors while simultaneously understanding how a high degree of local connectedness creates the environment for founders, small businesses, aspiring entrepreneurs, and remote workers to succeed. entrepreneurial ecosystem, and to hone the organization’s vision and programs.
The ideal candidate will exercise an elevated level of hospitality skills, leadership capabilities that support: Building valuable partnerships, People Management, Vision & Strategy, support Fundraising and Sponsorships, and Growth Strategy.

This position reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.

Job Responsibilities
• Working with the CAO & President -CEO to refine a shared vision for the future of the Coworking space, by developing and facilitating an active planning process.
• Learn all Coworking Apps affiliated with booking and billing for members.
• Manage day-to-day community operations to exceed member expectations and uphold high quality and standards of our space.
• Develop appropriate goals and strategies to advance the mission.
• Communicate the organization’s vision, strengths, and impact to external stakeholders.
• Engage with emerging data to support building an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
• Identify revenue generating, fundraising and sponsorships opportunities to support existing program operations and expand services and influence.
• Work with Community Managers on all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
• Develop and lead a strong strategic plan to continue to expand the profile and impact of Greater Nexus, while driving service provision for our membership.
• Develop and maintain relationships with elected and non-elected officials
• Lead strategy to incorporate curated programming and external programming opportunities to that engage our members and the community.
• Touring potential members, pitching membership opportunities, presenting Greater Nexus in new spaces.
• Generate new sales and maintaining current member retention.
• Ensure education and enforcement of policies and procedures for all members.
• Oversee relationships with third-party partners (building, facilities, etc.) to ensure efficient and effective operations while minimizing costs and without compromising quality.
• Solve member-related issues and conduct feedback analyses to address opportunity areas.
• Oversee space operations including daily walkthroughs and inventory management.
• Meet regularly with senior member stakeholders to discuss objectives and gather feedback.
• Work with CAO/President-CEO and CFO/Controller to oversee all operating budget lines to ensure the business is on track as projected, track all expenses, and discuss monthly P&L with business leaders.
• Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
• Work with GJDC staff to execute tasks above.

Qualifications:
• College graduate with a four-year degree- Master’s Degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of experience in co-working, hospitality, sales, or operations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and enthusiastic communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
• Financial literacy and experience managing a team preferred
• Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships preferred.
• Strong public relations and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
• Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set, and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
• Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
• Passion, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
• Due to the nature of the role this position requires onsite presence
• Must be fully vaccinated, meet NYC Guidelines
