St. Lawrence University seeks a Senior Associate Director of Advancement Operations. Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement Operations (EDAO), the Senior Associate Director contributes to the ongoing success of the division in its mission to maximize philanthropy to St. Lawrence by assisting in the planning, building, managing, and assessing its operating and administrative systems. S/he investigates, develops, implements and manages new assessment tools, benchmarking strategies, and return on investment metrics; monitors data, interprets findings, and makes recommendations to the EDAO. S/he collaborates with the EDAO and Senior Associate Director of Gifts, Records and Analytics in report and list generation to meet the robust needs of the division. S/he coordinates and plans training programs focusing on both information systems as well as administrative processes. S/he assists with monitoring division-wide progress towards goals through a collaborative process with Advancement colleagues, directs workflow on major projects, and evaluates individual and division-wide results to ensure that objectives and operating requirements are met and coincide with the needs and mission of the University. S/he will have overall responsibility for document procedures that impact TRE user community and users of other UA Administrative Systems.
Duties/Responsibilities
Report and List Generation
Working collaboratively with EDAO and Senior Associate Director of Gifts, Records & Analytics the Senior Associate Director of Operations will be responsible for a portion of the report and list generation to support our colleagues across UA, while optimizing system capabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, pledge reminder, appeal files, RENXT lists and RENXT reports.
Advancement Information Systems
Working collaboratively with EDAO, the Sr. Associate Director of Gifts and Analytics and our IT partners, the Senior Director of Advancement Operations will take a lead role in implementing new systems, and system upgrades including TRE, BBNC, Fundraiser Performance Management, PeopleGrove, and other administrative systems and databases to ensure seamless integration of UA business principals as well as overall divisional goals and objectives.
Training
Develops, maintains and oversees a robust and comprehensive University Advancement training program to ensure the division is properly trained on The Raisers’ Edge, Reeher Platform, BBNC and other UA databases and systems. The Sr. Associate Director of Advancement Operations also conceptualizes, organizes, and manages logistics for training for all advancement staff members, coordinating topics, securing speakers, and creating original content for presentations.
Documentation
Responsible for overall development and documentation of policies and procedures relating to TRE and other UA administrative systems. Continually updates instructional materials as warranted and participates in User Groups to ensure optimal use of systems and compliance with UA and St. Lawrence University policies.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Flexibility of hours is required with occasional evening or weekend work.
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires an articulate, independent, savvy administrative professional with superior organizational and verbal and written communications skills; working knowledge of computer applications, including Windows, PowerPoint and advanced knowledge of Excel. A bachelor’s degree plus five years related experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
