Financial Administrator – Help our small, creative, established organization with finance and accounting while growing your career in the field of supportive affordable housing.
The Position: We’re looking for a Financial Administrator who has a strong aptitude for financial recordkeeping, financial statements and budgeting as well as great customer service and people skills. The salary we’re offering will range based on experience from $54,080-$62,400 for a 40-hour per week job.
We offer two weeks annually of paid time off during your first five years with the organization (with an additional week added at every five-year milestone).
We also offer additional standard paid holidays throughout the year.

Job Duties
Responsibilities:
Enter bills and run checks to pay vendors twice a month
Process all incoming rent payments and make bank deposits
Reconcile all bank statements each month
Scan and save copies of bills, estimates/proposals, checks and statements in our shared drive
Maintain all payroll records and run payroll twice a month, including collection and processing of time-cards for hourly workers and timesheets for all employees
Organize insurance policies, chart the related details, ensure that premium payments are made, and enter journal entries related to these payments
Check financial records for accuracy, assist with key efficiency metrics, produce financial statements, make adjusting journal entries, complete financial reports and coordinate with the Executive Director, Treasurer, and CPA to ensure accurate financial reporting for the organization
Procure goods and services needed by the office, with an approved purchase order when required and with regular vendor quotes to ensure cost efficiencies
Responsible for HR duties in correlation with our third-party HR consultants. Duties will include onboarding new CSH staff for HR and company policies and some job duty training
Interact with applicants, residents, representatives of other agencies/vendors, and with CSH staff in accordance with CSH policies and procedures
Work with residents to collect rents and discuss ledgers, ensure a responsive and positive resident experience, and keep records and post notices in accordance with external regulations and internal policies and procedures
Accurately record and communicate phone calls and voicemails
Attend trainings/conferences (in-state) as needed
Create and manage financial reports, statements and budgets as requested by the Executive Director in formats requested by CSH or outside agencies/organizations
Assists with grant application budgets and financial reporting
Receive cross-training in various tasks within the organization to help strengthen knowledge of what we do, and to insure redundancy and foster teamwork
Assist the Executive Director with various tasks and projects as needed
Skills Required
Requirements:
Relevant experience in finance and accounting positions, with understanding of accrual accounting.
A Bachelors degree or education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Experience in the affordable housing field is an advantage.
Experience working in or with a CSB (Community Services Board) or other settings serving people with disabilities is a plus.
Experience working with AppFolio and or Gusto is a strong advantage, and experience with accounting software is required.
You must be a solutions-oriented, hard-working, compassionate, positive, dedicated, calm, organized, practical team player with patience and a good sense of humor.
You will work closely with the Executive Director, whose direction will support your success; however, independent leadership skills, strong focus, and initiative are important qualities in this job.
Excellent math, writing, speaking, interpersonal, and computer skills are required. Proficiency with Windows, Gmail, Word, Excel and Dropbox or similar cloud file system is required; advanced knowledge of Excel is a strong advantage.
Understanding of data analysis and forecasting is a strong advantage.
A relaxed but professional demeanor is required; a minimum of three years’ office experience is preferred.
