Dental Clinic Office Manager

Charlottesville Free Clinic

Job Description

Description

For 30 years, the not-for-profit Charlottesville Free Clinic has been an open door to free, high-quality healthcare for thousands of uninsured and underinsured members of our community. We fill a unique position within Virginia’s health safety net by eliminating the barriers to medical, mental health and dental services for people who would otherwise have nowhere to go for care.

We are seeking a driven, team-oriented Office Manager for our dental clinic to oversee all administrative operations. You will coordinate administrative responsibilities for employees, including reception and coordination of clinical training, and you will maintain relationships with local dental professionals who volunteer at the Free Clinic. To excel in this role, you should be self-motivated, highly organized, a good communicator, and have the talent to inspire teams. It is important that the prospective candidate understands how to manage staff schedules and be familiar with dental software.

Because we do not bill insurance, an Office Manager position at the Charlottesville Free Clinic is somewhat different from the same position in a private-practice dental clinic. Your work here will focus on helping us continually evaluate the quality of care we are providing to our community, ensure smooth and efficient internal operations and maintain an excellent reputation with our volunteers and the community at large. You will be working with a staff team who are compassionate and passionate about serving our most vulnerable community members.

This is a full-time position. Our dental clinic operates Monday through Friday with daytime hours and one day a week with evening hours.

Responsibilities:

Manage all internal office procedures and practices

Maintain the dental clinic’s dashboard and statistics to report to our Board of Directors

Deliver direct individual and team leadership to ensure all office employees produce outstanding client service

Coordinate the day-to-day execution of office practices that increase productivity and efficiency

Respond to clinical and operational issues in a timely and professional manner

Hire, supervise and train new employees

Maintain a regular schedule of training for employees

Recruit local dental professionals to volunteer at the Free Clinic and steward volunteer relationships

Liaise, as appropriate, with the Free Clinic’s medical clinic, pharmacy, fundraising and administrative staff

Skills Required

High school diploma or relevant certification

A minimum of 2 years of dental administration experience

Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated dedication to delivering excellent customer service

Friendly, professional, and highly organized

Strong computer literacy

Ability to speak Spanish is beneficial but not required
